People don’t need to be saved or rescued. People need knowledge of their own power and how to access it.
I tried everything to find the right ceremony for me understanding the importance of it feeling right for you. I had found some underground goings on not far from me and one guy had said he would get in touch. Bah, can’t rely on that I thought. I gotta get this work done! So I decided on a ceremony I had found in Spain. I was hesitant. It was in a week. I was scared but I knew deep down that nothing was ever going to change unless I did this. I had to do this.
I booked the flights, the retreat, train tickets, bus tickets. It cost me most of what I had left in my account but I knew that it was worth it. I went to bed that night worrying whether I had made the right decision or just wasted the remains of my bank account on something that I couldn’t go through.
The next day I woke up and went about my business not trying to think of the retreat just yet – I had a week to go after all. I could put it off mentally. My mobile rings and I think to myself – ah there is no use these recruiters calling until after the ceremony when I hope that I will have a little more clarity over my life than I do now. What the heck – I’ll pick it up.
I hear a voice;
“Hi there – erm, I heard you were interested in a ceremony?”
I hesitate for a second.
“I’m sorry? Oh my god.” I paused. “I didn’t think you would call.” I said. “But I have literally just booked one in Spain.”
“It’s happening tonight.” he said. “And another tomorrow if you are interested.”
My mind was blown. Is this for real? She is literally at my door. Knocking it down. It’s on a plate. It’s going to be 20 minutes away from me, tonight, like in 8 or so hours. Fuck! What the hell do I do??? I have a busy day and I can’t get to the place (which was situated rurally) that easily. I told him I would let him know. Logistically it was impossible. But I knew that anything could be possible.
She works in mysterious ways
I went on with my day knowing by the end of it I would have literally not be able to make it. I phoned him whilst on the train back to my parents house.
“I don’t think I can make it.” I said.
“I’m picking up another girl at around 6.15pm. See what you can do.”
I hung up. I literally had 30 minutes to get from where I was to him and it would normally take about 2 hours. I ain’t going to make it I thought. Oh well I thought. Another whisper – just try it, see what you can do. Who knows. I knew then that I had to try to get to this meeting point. And in that moment the skies opened and an enormous down pour happened.
I literally ran to the train station, got the next available train. Called my dad asked him if he could drop me at the bus stop so I could get to this meeting point. He said he was too tired. Right, a taxi I thought. Yeah right, a taxi, with almost no money, on a Friday evening during rush hour in the rain. No chance.
I jumped in, told the driver where to go. That traffic – well there was none. We fled down the road and I got home in miracle time with 15 minutes to spare to grab some new clothes and things for the night as my mum just so happened to be heading out past the bus stop that I need to get to the meeting point.
As we left the driveway and hit the road, the clouds parted and an enormous rainbow appeared with the sun glowing. If that wasn’t a sign that I was on the right track, I don’t know what was.
She had already started to work.
